What Take-Two has said about PC
In a Bloomberg interview published May 5, 2026, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed there would be no PC version at launch. His reasoning, in short: Rockstar always starts on console to serve its core audience. Asked whether Sony's marketing deal played a part, he said it didn't.
That pattern isn't new. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 also launched on console first and reached PC later.
GTA 6 PC release date rumors
- Q1 2027: reported by GamesBeat citing anonymous industry sources, as covered by TechRadar. Unconfirmed.
- Q1 2028: an estimate by GameSpot based on Rockstar's past PC port timelines, not on any leak.
Until Rockstar announces something, every PC date is a rumor. Anyone selling a "GTA 6 PC key" right now is running a scam.
Console performance: what's known
PlayStation's features page confirms Tempest 3D Audio, fast SSD loading, and DualSense haptics, adaptive triggers and speaker support. Neither Rockstar nor Sony has published resolution or frame rate targets for PS5 or PS5 Pro. Claims about 30fps or 60fps modes come from analysis and insiders, not official sources.
Other console details
- Single-player only at launch, per the PlayStation listing; GTA Online hasn't been detailed.
- Offline play and Remote Play are supported on PS5.
- Includes optional in-game purchases.
